School of Studies in Chemistry, Jiwaji University, Gwalior-474 Oil, India E-mail : gwlsosmica@sancharnet.in Fax: 91-751-2346209 Manuscript received 26 September 2003, revised 20 August 2004, accepted 2 February 2005 Electrochemical behaviour of 3-[4'-sulphonamoylphenyl] aznmethincindoles was studied in Britton-Robinson buffers in the pH range 2.5 to 12.0 at glassy carbon (gc) electrode. Cyclic voltammograms exhibited a well defined irreversible 2e-/2H+ cathodic peak below pH 7.9. At and above pH 7.9 one additional 2e-/2H+ reduction peak was observed which was assigned to the reduction of C-N bond. Products of cpe was characterised by elemental and spectral analysis
