Single crystals of gamma glycine were grown by slow evaporation method using zinc acetate as an additive. The grown crystals were subjected to X-ray diffraction technique to determine the lattice parameters. Linear optical constants such as linear absorption coefficient, transmittance, reflectance, optical band gap etc have been determined for grown sample. Second order and third order nonlinear optical (NLO) studies have been carried out to find SHG efficiency, nonlinear absorption coefficient, nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear optical susceptibility of the grown crystal.
