Nuevas poblaciones de Papillifera bidens bidens (Linnaeus, 1758) (Gastropoda: Clausiliidae) en Cataluña

Papillifera bidens is a species introduced centuries ago in the Iberian Peninsula and other parts in the Mediterranean basin. Two subspecies are recognized (bidens and affinis) which correspond to two independent introduction episodes. The subspecies bidens has been cited previously at few places in Catalonia. Here we provide new populations in the provinces of Barcelona and Tarragona, confirming a recent expansion in its distribution range in this area, and the possibility of secondary expansion from previous historical populations
