A REPRESENTAÇÃO ESTÉTICA E O IMAGINÁRIO GROTESCO DA BANDA QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE.

In this paper I attempt to contribute to the studies around the aesthetic of the grotesque on rock'n'roll as a form of poetic stylization and, in particular, the imaginary representation of the US band Queens of the Stone Age. The impressions of this aesthetic style seem to represent effectively the anxieties and contradictions of a full sensory stimuli and constant daily shocks that the citizens are exposed nowadays. Through art, the band seeks to raise issues relating to representations about the life of the authors and, later in his reception, associated with the reality of the viewing public by means of subjective imagination of every individual to get in touch with the work of the band. O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em contribuir com os estudos relativos à estética do grotesco no rock’n’roll como forma de estilização poética e, em especial, à representação do imaginário da banda estadunidense Queens of the Stone Age. As moldagens deste estilo estético parecem representar com eficácia as angústias e contradições de uma época repleta de estímulos sensoriais e choques cotidianos constantes que o indivíduo é exposto na contemporaneidade. Por meio da arte, a banda busca suscitar questões referentes às representações da vida cotidiana de seus autores e, mais tarde em sua recepção, associadas à realidade do público espectador por meio do imaginário subjetivo de cada indivíduo que entrar em contato com suas obras
