Background: Bipolar disorder contributes to high rates of morbidity with serious consequences on the quality of life. There is limited research on life experience of people with this mental disorder in educational interventions, in Chile. Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the experiences of patients with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder who participated in a psychoeducational programme in a regional hospital. Methodology: The methodological approach used was qualitative descriptive. The participants were selected until the theoretical saturation of the information was reached.
