From the petrol extractives of Artemisia vulgaris L. (-) thujone, α-amyrin and its acetate, fernenola new pentacyclic triterpene alcohol, stigmasterol and \(\beta\)-sitosterol have been isolated in pure state. The presence of \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\)-pinenes was indicated by GLC analysis. The occurrence of a ketone, m.p. 78°, an alcohol, m.p. 56°, and three hydrocarbons, designated as hydrocarbons A, B and C has also been observed in the petrol extract of the plant materials
