Highlights the Encyclical Aeterni Patris of Pope Leo XIII, rescuing some important aspects, especially, its recognition to the respect of the value of philosophy for faith. Historically, the relation between faith and philosophy never was simple, but, despite the difficulties, the encounter between faith and philosophy has produced good results on both. Therefore, despite the difficulties of faith in finding their place in contemporary philosophical thought, when philosophy does not seem to worry about the faith, this should not reject or abandon the philosophy, but rescue the invaluable help of philosophy to faith and, so, show how to faith can also be an aid to the philosophy in the present day
