From an aqueous solution a new nonlinear optical semi-organic crystal, L-leucine Urea has been grown by slow evaporation method. Here after the grown crystal is referred as LLU. Variety of characterizations such as UV-Vis-NIR, TGA-DSC, FTIR, SHG and XRD are used to confirm the suitability for device fabrications of grown LLU crystals. From the FTIR spectrum various functional groups were derived which gives the information about the L-Leucine and Urea from the vibrational frequencies. By the TGA-DSC studies the thermal stability of the grown LLU crystal was investigated and was found to be noted that the crystal was thermally stable up to 214.40°C.
