Gallbladder cancer (GBC) was first reported in 1777 (Lazcano-Ponce et al., 2001). Today it is most often found in two situations, which are late stage with constitutional symptoms and positive imaging findings, and early stage, incidentally diagnosed after cholecystectomy for other disease. The incidence of GBC has declined over the last few decades and the survival time is also better than in the past. With the improvement of treatment and imaging techniques, the future promises more late stage cases will survive longer and more early stage cases will be discovered. We are optimistic this will lead to increased survival times on the whole and eliminate the current fear of GBC as a highly mortal cancer (Gourgiotis et al., 2008).https://www....
