ON THE ISSUE OF THE LEGAL STATUS OF A SELF-EMPLOYED PERSON IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL PROTECTION

The purpose of this article is to study the legal status of a self-employed person in the field of social protection. Attention is focused on the importance of self-employment as a separate type of employment in Ukraine. Since the large-scale reduction of employment in the budgetary sphere, the release of labor from material production, mass emigration and internal population movements led to an increase in unemployment. Under the conditions when most of the national economy is private, the state will not be able to provide productive employment to those who need employment. Therefore, self-employment of the population is considered as the most effective way of reducing unemployment due to the creation of new jobs, as well as raising the standard of living of the population. Regulation of individual employment through its expansion, state support, legislative regulation and social protection of the self-employed will remain relevant for Ukraine in the near future. It is noted that self-employed persons as subjects of social security law are endowed with a special legal status, which includes such constituent elements as legal personality, a set of rights and obligations, guarantees of their compliance and responsibility. In particular, the legal status of self-employed persons in the field of social protection is proposed to be understood as a combination of their rights and obligations, responsibilities and guarantees of their activities, enshrined in normative legal acts regulating the activities of this category of person
