There are several methods of architectural design using the computational design technologies. One of them is the method of generative design, in which design solutions are developed with the help of special scripts and algorithms. When it is used, the role of the architect changes from the direct participant of designing to the developer and organiser of the algorithmic design process. The article contains the comparative analysis of generative, informational and parametric design methods, their advantages and the most optimal solutions, which became the basis for constructing the authors’ system of practical generative design
