Urinary tract infections are considered of great relevance among infections of bacterial origin as one of the third most important bacterial infections worldwide. These infections are caused by bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family, such as Escherichia coli, which is the most frequently isolated uropathogen. The objective was to determine the level of resistance to cefotaxime and ceftazidime in bacterial strains from urinary tract infections. Material and methods.
