The most recent checklist of mosses in Belgium, dating from 2007, indicated for the first time the region in which they occur. As far as Flanders is concerned, this list has been critically reviewed. 32 species were added because they were either discovered after the publication of the checklist, or because they were inadvertently not included in the checklist. 27 species were deleted because of lack of evidence or because they were wrongly identified. The adapted checklist in annex has been supplemented with a rarity indicator and the Red List status of these species in Flanders
