R. buffer in the pH range 2.0-12.0. All the compounds gave a single, well defined, irreversible, diffusion controlled reduction wave. whose E1/2. was pH dependent but id remained constant throughout the entire pH range. The E1/2, shifted towards negative potential with increase in pH, thereby showing that protonation precedes reduction. The effect of the double layer structure on the E1/2, is also studied
