The usage of linear permanent-magnet actuators, and their associated industrial drives, increases in a wide variety of applications, due to the exhibited high force density, robustness, and accuracy. Usually, the stroke of the linear actuators is reduced, so they are used as electromechanical positioning systems. In this work, the control of the one degree of freedom electromechanical system, through the fuzzy logic, is proposed. This system incorporates a permanent magnet tubular linear motor commanded by an industrial positioning drive.
