(www.waterlat.org) During the last fifteen years, it is possible to identify a global trend towards the re-statization of water and sanitation utilities that had been previously privatized. This return to the public domain can also be identified in Argentina, where between 2002 and 2015 11 out of 15 previously privatized utilities were placed back under state control. This phenomenon was the result of a combination of political-economic processes with sector-specific problems.
