The source for the historiography of Ukrainian Easter eggs painting of the late XIX – early XX century.

The author publishes materials on the historiography of Ukrainian Easter eggs painting at the end of the 19s and 20s years of the XXth century prepared by T. Myshkivska. The researcher tries to analyze the most well-known publications of M. Sumtsov, S. Kulzhynskyi, M. Korduby, K. Sherotskyi, I. Gurguly, published in Ukraine and abroad, in particular the work of V. Shcherbakivskyi, published in the Czech Republic in 1925 etc. Her research is stored in the Archives of Scientifi c Collections of Manuscripts and Phonographs of M.T. Rylskyi IAFE NAS of Ukraine, in the fund of the Ethnographic Commission of the AUAS. The purpose of the article is to publish the archive primary source, and to familiarize it with a wide range of scientists. During the work the methods of search, systematization, analysis of the received data were used. The work of the scientifi c archive of the Institute’s manuscripts and other sources gave the author the opportunity to state that the scientifi c heritage of T. Myshkivska for the study of the theme of Easter eggs painting, as well as its ornamental motifs, is rather diverse, requires proper studying and introduction to scientifi c circulation
