AN ADVANCEMENT AND INVESTIGATION ON REAL TIME POWER MANAGEMENT FOR THE STREETLIGHT SYSTEM

Street lighting in most of the rural and urban area s in India are not energy efficient. As it is the i ndispensable part of the rural and urban infrastructure. Hence there is tremendous potential for the improvement and proper maintenance without altering present street lighting system. Th is paper focuses on the problems like power saving,power theft,security,and immediate response to problems. Here we suggest a system which can monitor and control p ower continuously. An experimental system of wireless se nsor network can be developed to study the feasibil ity for streetlight monitoring and control system. It also helps to design a highly secured and efficient syst em which can save power,as is the prime demand to meet the pres ent increasing power needs. The important phenomeno n of the paper is to consider the prime things while designi ng new system,that can read,corrects and as well as control utilization of power efficiently. This system consi sts of a base station (also called as control cente r) and a sensor node at each of the remote station (also called as feeder enable box). The base station monitors and c ontrols all streetlights at real-time. This paper presents a mo dern and secured street lighting control system wit h embedded system based AC regulator system for lighting appli cations. The system guarantees energy savings due t o power dimming options to avoid unnecessary glowing of bul bs during night hours according to traffic safety,lighting comfort and ON OFF timings in the morning & evening hours. https://www.ijiert.org/paper-details?paper_id=14043
