Learning is meaningful if all senses are utilized simultaneously in the process of acquiring knowledge. As we move to the higher level of learning the abstractness in the concepts go on increasing. Mere verbal explanation can never reduce this complexity. Usually a teacher makes the child accept it as it is and moves ahead. The child takes it as it is, crams it or omits it as an option. All these are not healthy way of learning. Constructivist learning theory has its place in the educational setting, but may not be appropriate as an exclusive practice.
