Kochtcheeva, Associate Professor in the School of Public and International Relations, presenter in the second lightening round session during the research symposium, and discussed a case study of Russia and the country's climate change policy. Kochtcheeva investigated the reason behind Russia's delayed ratification of the Paris Climate Agreement, and what prevents Russia from implementing the agreement domestically. Kochtcheeva concluded that Russia's climate positioning is based on conceptions of foreign policy interests, national interests, international engagement, and its image in the world
