Two hundred adolescent girls in the age group of 13-19 years were selected from government schools of rural and urban area from district Kurukshetra (state Haryana, country India) and surveyed for their nutrient adequacy by 24-hour recall method for three consecutive days using consistent vessels. Nutrition education was imparted to the subjects after adjudicating their elementary nutritional awareness. Nutrition education imparted to adolescent girls increased their average daily intake of calories, proteins and iron significantly. Hence, nutrition education is an effective measure to bring about the favorable and noteworthy modification in adolescent nutrient intak
