Chemistry Department University School of Sciences, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad-380009. Manuscript received to July 1973 ; revised 13 August 1974 ; accepted 1 October 1974. 2-Mercaptobenzimedazole (2-MBMA) is investigated as an inhibitor of corrosion for copper and brass in 0.1N acetic acid, 0.1N monochloroacetic acid, 0.1N dichloroacetic acid, and 0.1N trichloroacetic acid. The performance of 2-mercaptobenzimedazole as an inhibitor is found fairly good and it affords adquate protection to copper and brass
