Benthic communities are considered excellent indicators of the ecological status of the marine environment. This study aims to present the results from the ecological analysis of benthic communities from infralittoral hard substrate habitats in Romanian coastal waters and provide updated information on the current structure and distribution of flora and fauna communities. During 2020-2021, macroalgae samples were collected from Pescărie - Vama Veche area, at depths between 0 and 8 m, while the zoobenthic samples were collected from Tuzla - Mangalia area in the bathymetric interval 2 and 10 m.
