The article contains a reflection on the redefinition about the identity of the university. The article is also an attempt at looking at the search of identity of university, in situations negative evaluating judgements others, which then become the basis own identification. The analysis shows problems weakening the role of the university in the modern world, and the social effects of changes in the university. This reflections on the role of the university relate to the perception of the institution as a place to get an education and a place to discover the truth.
