A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON METACOGNITIVE AWARENESS LEVELS AMONG MALE AND FEMALE HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Students who perform well academically, many times, rely on being able to think constructively and independently in order to administer their learning. These students have mastered basic but important skills such as maintaining their work organised , having a clear idea of what is to do , completing tasks on decided time , planning for learning, then following it ethically, monitoring their own learning pattern , and acknowledging when is the change required.. The main objective of this study was to understand the level of Metacognitive Awareness among 91 Higher Secondary School Students. The results depicted that female students have a higher level of Metacognitive awareness than male students. Teachers should encourage their students to monitor and reflect on their performance
