BIOECOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE SPECIES COTONEASTER ASSAMENSIS IN APSHERON

The article examines the bioecological features of seedlings, their morphogenesis, the dynamics of the period of primary growth and development of the species Cotoneaster assamensis introduced to the conditions of the Absheron. When studying seed propagation, the sowing dates and sowing depth were determined, and agrotechnics for their cultivation was also developed. The studies were carried out in the autumn and spring periods in open conditions at the experimental site of the Central Botanical Garden. The results showed that the best time for sowing seeds of the studied species in the conditions of Absheron is early autumn (october-november) with a high percentage of germination (80-90%), and when spring sowing (in march), the seeds need stratification (155-160 days).The optimal depth for sowing was determined - 1.5 cm. The study of the growth dynamics of the aboveground and underground parts showed that in the first year intensive growth was noted in the underground part. Thus, on the basis of the results obtained, it was found that seed reproduction, growth and development of the aboveground and underground parts of Cotoneaster assamensis are well adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of Absheron, which allows their use in landscaping
