This paper gives an overview of different insulating materials for steel structures to deal with fire suitable for different situations and uses. This paper includes how the steel in steel structure behaves in case of fire and what are the factors affecting the collapse of the structure, in turn how the insulating materials help the steel structure to resist fire to avoid the failure of the steel members causing the collapse of the structure. It also explains the advantages and disadvantages of the insulating materials to understand the suitability of each material according to the structure/situation, concluding that the inventive use of the existing materials taking into account their physical and chemical properties can lead to desired p...
