In the following lines we will try to examine the important and profound impact made to the historiographic field of Chile, by the historiographical branch known as "classical marxist", from the early 50s to the historical fracture that result in a coup in 1973 and its upcoming reverberations. First, looking at this branch from a "generational professional turn" point of view shared with colleagues of the structuralist branch, understanding both as acting in the gradual dispute to the traditional-conservative-nationalist and liberal historiographical hegemony, which unleashed a restructuring of the mentioned field.
