The Nigeria customs have been burdened with traditions that attach the imbalance in male and female children. This is due to the long-held belief in male superiority and female subordination. The situation gave girls no traditional rights to education. The study obtained its figures and data from secondary sources. This paper discussed the effect of gender inequality on education and essentiality of female education. It further discussed the problems faced in educating a female child in Nigeria.
