Synthesis of some N-Substituted-benzenepropanamines

Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Jammu-180 001 Manuscript received 20 December 1983, revised 30 November 1984, accepted 30 April 1985 Some N-substituted-\(m\)-ethoxy-\(p\)-methrzy-2-methylbenzenepropanamines (8) have been synthesised by the condensation of corresponding benzenepropanoyl chlorides with aliphatic and aromatic amines followed by reduction of the resultant amides with LAH. The amine hydrochlorides have been tested \(in\) \(vitro\) for their amebicidal activity against \(E\). \(histolytica\)
