Abstract: Adapting the textbook has been implemented differently in a variety of teaching and learning contexts. The present study was designed to gain college students’ perceptions on the extent to which their teachers employed the six adaptation strategies in their English classroom and the contribution of the adaptation to students’ learning. The findings led to a conclusion that the teachers in the local school implemented all the six strategies. Two of them, simplifying and extending, were used the most frequently by those teachers. Research findings also showed that from the students’ perceptions, the adaptation produced by their teachers supported their learning by different ways.
