Abstract: Food packaging is critical for getting food from farm to fork. Improper packaging, such as food decaying from lack of wrapping, condiments sticking to containers, or the difficulty to portion fresh bulk products for timely consumption, accounts for 25% of household food waste. Packaging that prevents spoiling or extends shelf life can save 280,000 tonnes of food, worth $882 million. Food supply chain losses plague developing nations. Proper packing can protect and preserve food so it can reach these families securely. This review discusses nanoparticles used in food packaging instead of conventional ways. It also discusses nanoparticle health risks and antibacterial characteristics
