Evaluation on Characteristics and Family Structure of Juveniles Driven to Crime

The number of juvenile delinquents is increasing day by day. Crimes committed by children continue to be an important problem in the world and in our country. Numerous studies have been conducted to determine the reasons that push children to commit crime. Studies conducted on juvenile delinquents indicate that the child tends towards delinquent behavior as a result of the combination of the negative aspects of individual, familial and social factors. Knowing the causes of juvenile delinquency and determining the measures to be taken in this context are important in terms of preventing juvenile delinquency and reintegrating children involved in crime into society. In this study, the characteristics and family structures of the children dragged into crime were evaluated. Within the scope of the study, firstly, the phenomenon of juvenile delinquent was discussed. Then, juvenile delinquency has been examined under the headings of gender, ethnic identity, social class and poverty, substance use and habits, mental illnesses, intelligence, early work, school and education status, peer group and peer abuse, street children, immigration and familial factors. reasons were evaluated
