Abstract: Conflict among communities and clans on East African countries' borders has been a concern over the years. Governments and international communities have worked hard to develop solutions to reduce tension and conflict among these communities. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the effect of mediation in promoting peace among cross-border pastoralist communities between Kenya and Ethiopia. The study employed a descriptive survey design to investigate the root causes of the conflict and the influence of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
