Taxonomy of Birds of the world

This dataset includes the order, family, genus, species and subspecies of birds obtained from the IOC World Bird List version 5.4 of 24 October 2015. Some updates have been made with current revisions from the IOC World Bird List and further changes will be made to reflect changes that have been done to the IOC World Bird list since 2015. The lists are provided as separate files with unique identifiers for use in database systems. The IOC World Bird List does not include unique identifiers so we have introduced unique IDs and linked inaturalist taxon identifiers to allow users to refer to information and images on https://www.inaturalist.org
