ACTIVITIES OF THE EKATERININSKY YACHT-CLUB IN THE EARLY XX CENTURY

The article deals with the social activities of the Catherine Yacht Club and its members in the early XX century. The organization of rowing training of young athletes by the yacht club with the creation of necessary conditions for it is studied. The process of training of sportsmen-pupils is characterized. Information is given about the interaction between the management of the Catherine Yacht Club and representatives of the Romanov dynasty, including the participation of Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich and his family in the ceremonial events of the club. The participation of student rowers of the yacht club in reviews before the members of the ruling dynasty, including Emperor Nicholas II, is given. The ceremony of accepting new vessels of the Catherine Yacht Club into service is analyzed. The leisure activities of the club for its members and their families are considered. The activity of the yacht club on rescue of drowning people from vessels in distress is disclosed
