Organization and Management of the Book Trade in PRC

The research urgency is caused by the fact that in recent years, China is showing rapid development of the book market due to the rational organization and management book sector. Critical reflection of work experience in this direction is interesting and useful for Ukraine. The aim of this article is to analyze the experience in the organization and management of the book trade in China. Research method used is the analysis of the legal materials and Internet-resources of state bodies of China and statistical data. The article describes the activities of a number of party and government organs of management in book industry, namely the propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist party of China, State administration of press and print of the PRC, the Ministry of culture of the PRC. The legislative framework ensuring the functioning of the industry is reviewed. Special attention is paid to the “Law on administration of publishing market”. The article describes the general directions of the state policy of the PRC that affect the processes of organization and management of book trade. A number of documents adopted by the party and state authorities of the PRC and is aimed at the reform of book publishing has been analyzed. It was clarified that the organization and management of the book trade in China is solved through the optimal combination of state regulation and market mechanisms. The functions of the state are to determine strategic directions of the industry development, the establishment of a legislative base, ensuring process standardization, supervision and control. The state creates favorable conditions for the industry developmentwhich lie in the financial support of the projects, encourage investment, and attract foreign capital, tax credits. The analysis of statistical materials shows that this policy gives positive results. Experience in organizing and managing the book industry in the PRC need to bestudied, as the country shows a rapid growth of the book market due to optimal combination of state regulation and market mechanisms
