God-Talk Beyond Metaphysics

The second half of twentieth century has generally been referred to as ‘postmodern.’ The term ‘postmodern’ and its derivatives like postmodernism and postmodernity refer to a movement “at once fashionable and elusive”. They reflect a shared sense of an end or at least the decline of some structure called ‘modernism’ that had been reigning supreme in the West for several centuries (Smith 1996: 3). They envelop many a discipline of knowledge, pattern of culture, expression of art, media of communication, etc. Beyond these vague characterizations when scholars and writers try to define the nature of postmodernism, they begin by first expressing their inability to carry out the task adequatel
