The individual author's use of the traditional for Russian poetry device of variation of morphological characteristics in describing of the irreal was analyzed in the article. The shift in the categories of grammatical gender (gender asymmetry) and the grammatical person during the nomination of the irreal object in the poem by Anna Akhmatova «Vsem obeshhan'jam vopreki…» was considered. The implicit reference to Nikolai Gumilyov's translation of the poem "Ghost" by Charles Baudelaire was characterized. It is alleged that the poetic potential of the device of precedence of morphological model allows us to clarify some of the issues of historical and literary character
