The adsorption behaviour of Crystal Violet from aqueous solution onto biosorbent prepared from Water hyacinth under various experimental conditions were investigated, to evaluate the adsorption capacity. The initial dye concentrations of 50 ppm , 60 ppm and 70 ppm with the contact time of 30 minutes and pH 6.5 were investigated in batch mode. Langmuir and Flory-Huggins isotherms were used to analyze the equilibrium adsorption data. The equilibrium adsorption capacity qmax computed from Langmuir equation is 12.216 mg/g. The Flory-Huggins isotherm gives the degree of surface coverage characteristics of the adsorbate on the adsorbent.The value of 'n' indicates that the adsorbate molecules adhered to the surface of the adsorbent.
