Population and Employment in Iran: Systemic View Abstract: The size, structure and growth rate of population have reciprocal and complicated relationships with social economic conditions. Population characteristics’ play an important role in government policy making and strategic planning. Population can influence on economic through supplying skilled and expert man power as major input in economic sectors. On the other hand economic conditions and labor market status effect on youth decision making about marriage and childbearing. Numerous study have investigated effect of employment and economic conditions on fertility or vice versa study the role of age structure on economic characteristics separately. Fewer research, study simultaneous effect of these factors and interactions between these sectors in a single holistic model. Regards to population and economic condition of Iran doing such researches is essential. This study try to explore interaction between population variables, and economic factors (like employment rate, gross domestic income (GDI) and welfare), through systemic view and system dynamics approach. Deep understanding of interactions between system components, help managers to find out the causes of social-economic system behaviors, and perceive challenges ahead better. Recognition out coming these holistic models can help the planners and policy makers consider various aspects of decisions will be made in order to optimum the resource allocation process.Ameneh Khadivar is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics, University of Alzahra, Tehran, Iran.
