Education is meant to teach young learners more about the world around them. However, perspectives from diverse backgrounds are not always utilized in the classroom. Because of this, many students are often underrepresented in the settings that are meant to best represent their situations. Taking current literature into consideration, the teaching practice of implementing ethnic studies into all fields of study for education ranging from kindergarten to the sixth grade can greatly benefit students. Findings from this literature review are still in production, but it is thought that the implementation of ethnic studies can have a positive impact on testing scores as well as behavior.
