The study investigated the effect of maternal nutrition anemia on the birth outcome among mothers delivered at SOS hospital in the Haleiwa district in Mogadishu Somalia. Anemia is defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization as a hemoglobin concentration less than 11 g/dl It is considered severe when the hemoglobin concentration is less than 7.0 g/dL, moderate when hemoglobin falls between 7.0 and 9.9 g/dL, and mild when hemoglobin is from 10.0 to 10.9 g/dL (WHO et al., 2011)
