This paper attempts to project how the moral and insanity of modern man has stimulated Bernard Malamud, the Jewish-American fictionist, to reiterate the need for human values in society and how he upholds the dignity of man by unmasking man’s hidden potential and presenting human relationships and moral responsibility as the only alternative to the cancerous values that are found eating up the society.
