The study examines chemical use in vegetable production among farmers in Shika And Giwa Local Government area of Kaduna State with a view of highlighting the Side effects of these chemicals if not properly handled. Data were collected through interview schedule on 100 randomly selected vegetables farmers and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings revealed that majority of the farmers spray their crops with different chemicals to control insect and pest infestation. It was found that most of the farmers were oblivious of the harmful effect of pesticides/herbicides if not properly applied on crops, human and environment.
