Abstract This article analyses the points of confluence of Popular Theatre, Entertainment-Education and Theatre-for-Development and by identifying their histories, objectives, medium of transmission, it addresses their convergence in the performing arts discipline. Part of their interconnectedness is in the audience-character relationships, and their diverse renditions, some of which address clear-cut issues of morality, politics, and economy and many others. The paper also identifies their common objective which is the focus on systemically designed or inherently induced attitudinal change in societies where they are engaged.
