COMPULSORY NOTIFICATION PROCESS: KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND STUDENTS

The mandatory reporting is the mandatory information to the health authority in case of suspicion or confirmation of disease, injury or event. It can be performed immediately or weekly and notified by health professionals or by the head of services responsible to pay the first patient care, and public or private places. The presents study aims to identify the degree health professionals and students knowledge about the process that involves the compulsory disease reporting. It was selected 150 persons, 117 health care professionals and 33 students of health. The Data collection was performed by applying a questionnaire with objective questions. After analyzing the data, it was found that doctors, nurses, nursing technicians and nursing students showed a higher number of hits for the totality of the issues than physical therapists and physical therapy students. Although our objective was not to stratify knowledge by group of interviewees, the results indicate that the subject is little known and studied by health professionals and students, which can make it difficult to include them in professional practice
