Problematic aspects of lawyers' activities on the way of countering the legalization (laundering) of income obtained by criminal means in Ukraine

The article is devoted to the main problems of the lawyer's activity in counteracting the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, the definition of the concept of legalization (laundering) of income are presented. Legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, like many other transnational crimes, is caused by globalization and is a negative manifestation. As a result, Ukraine's integration into the world community, in addition to gaining obvious benefits, requires serious efforts to combat various crimes, including money laundering.The main international and domestic acts that reflect the issues of this scientific work in their provisions are also considered. The article highlights the role of some participants in the financial monitoring process of combating money legalized (laundered) under the law within the new law which adjusts the legalization (laundering) of income and financial monitoring, which entered into force on April 28, 2020. The activities of these participants in combating money laundered under the law are also considered through the prism of recommendations and requirements of such international acts as: the 4th EU Directive and the Recommendations of the International Anti-Money Laundering Organization, as well as key decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.The standards used in the article, developed on the basis of FATF recommendations, use important tools in the fight against corruption, and, if necessary, prevent the possibility of legalization of proceeds from crime.The modern situation in the field of prevention and counteraction to legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime in Ukraine was alsoconsidered.Basic visions of scientists in relation of forming methods of combating the process of legalization (laundering) of the profits that got a criminal way are also mentioned.These methods are mentioned in FATF recommendations. Forth EU Directive contains a list of the entities to which these methods are applied, among them, a special place is given to human rights defenders, in other words lawyers, who carry out certain activities
