Measurements of high order directional room impulse responses (DRIR) applying sequential loudspeaker array measurement techniques usually take a long time. The acoustical properties, especially of large rooms (e.g. concert halls, event spaces), can be subject to significant changes during the measurement. These changes can render sub-sets of the measurement incompatible to each other, preventing the composition of a complete DRIR. Hence, it is desirable to speed up the measurement process while maintaining the DRIR order and signal quality. Continuous measurement methods offer a faster approach for directional measurements than sequential techniques.
