(A summary in English) Lexicographic works in the manuscripts of Timbuktu Treatises of Arab lexicographers and lexicographic works in general have long been in circulation in the region of Timbuktu. The presentation sets to assess the Timbuktu manuscripts containing lexical descriptions to understand what subjects these manuscripts represent and in what languages they are written. Another topic is the question of influence of Arabic on sub-Saharan languages, with a focus on Arabic loan words in Songhay. On the examples of manuscripts from Mamma Haidara Library and Institute Ahmed Baba (IHERI-AB), it is demonstrated that the Timbuktu authors employed lexicographic approaches.
